I was disappointed that they bottled out of the regeneration - it was too obvious that he wasn't going to regenerate, they shouldn't have gone there at all IMO.

Still I enjoyed it for what it was.

The Christmas special looks like it could be good.

Good to see some other Doctor Who fans on the site! At last, people after my own heart.

The none regeneration was strange, but then again, David Tennant is an great Doctor Who so you can understand why they did stop it, and it did put a final end to the Rose storyline, as she now has her own version of the Doctor. I'm wasn't to sure about the Sarah Jane person though, I haven't ever caught any of her spin off, and I'm kinda glad now...

Looking forward to the Christmas Special, I wonder who the next sidekick will be, plus the Cybermen are back...

Where the Cybermen in season 3 Andy? I unfortunately missed most of that season so the last time I saw them was in season 2...

Were there any Cypermen left in the parallel Earth at the end of Doomsday? My line of thinking was maybe some came through the barrier, like Rose did and got left on earth...

of course, to any doctor who fans, the cybermen in this universe were actually from Earth's twin planet Mondas! The trailer for the episode looks like the episode is set in the past, so it could be the cybermen from our universe! ALTERNATIVELY - as stated in the Torchwood episode, Cyberwoman, the cybermen started "upgrading" normal people, so perhaps they are the remainder of those "upgrades" that didn't come through the rift?

They're both ideas anyway! LOL

Doctor Who update!

Postby The Doctor » Tue Sep 16, 2008 2:14 am

According to Digital Spy (www.digitalspy.co.uk) Catherine Tate, John Simm and Bernard Cribbins are due to reprise the roles as Donna Noble, The Master and Wilfred Mott, respectively, in next year's specials! Tate will return for one special, meaning that Cribbins will return for the same one!

The one that I'm personally most excited about is the one(s) that Simm will return in! Can't wait for Easter (date for the first special!)

David Tennant is also reputedly claimed that he is really interested in keeping up The Doctor for a fifth series and he's desperate to do a big screen, feature film! It was reported that 8th doctor Paul McGann, from Liverpool btw, would be making an appearance in one of them in footage of the Time War, but this has been denied by a BBC spokesperson! However, this does not mean that he won't return in the future OR even in one of the specials for a multi-doctor story, not in new footage of the Time War!

Interesting. I really wish they'd just do a series five next year though, instead of these specials.

it's cos Tennant is in Hamlet, but they're gonna do four series, and then have a break with specials and then another four series... and so on.

But yeah, I wish they would do another series instead of specials!

Ah yes, the curse of an actor, a 'fun project' followed by a 'serious project'.

Huge news:

Actor David Tennant will quit his role as Doctor Who next year.

The star has decided to step down as the Time Lord after filming wraps on four TV specials of the cult sci-fi show, due to be screened in late 2009 and 2010.

Tennant announced his departure on Wednesday night during the National TV Awards in London.

Appearing via video link, he told the audience: "I'm very excited because in January I go back to Cardiff to do four new specials which will see me through to 2009 - but when it returns in 2010 it won't be with me.

"Don't make me cry. The 2009 shows will be my last, I love this show and if I don't take a deep breath now, I never will and you will be wheeling me out of the Tardis in my bath chair.

"It's been the most brilliant, mad, amazing, life-changing time over the last three and a half years. There is a whole 2009 before I leave. Thank you for watching it, loving it, and being so enthusiastic."

I can't believe we only have 4 more specials with David Tennant as The Doctor. He is going to be a hard one to replace IMO as he has been fantastic.

Hey, I totally forgot about the Christmas Special this year, I can't wait to see it! When will we get a date for it? I normally miss it and then I have to start looking for when it is repeated.

Sorry had a silly Padme moment there, I always miss it as it's on Christmas Day and I don't really watch much TV then normally. I meant more about what date we should be expecting the other specials to come out around, has there been anything released about them yet?
