You just can't beat a bit of John Mclane. Timothy Olyphant plays a really good bad guy in this.

One of my fav Michael J. Fox movies. It's a slice of eighties fun and Fox is great in it. A nice easy watch. :^

BD: Spies Like Us (1985) ~ ~ ~ ~

First time I'd seen this, really enjoyed it. John Landis was a genius, it's a real shame he hasn't really directed anything since The Twilight Zone tragedy. Although I hear he's working on something with Simon Pegg at the moment.

Austin Millbarge: "Show some balls, man!"
Emmett Fitz-Hume: "I think it's too late to try and impress them."

BD: Cars (2006) ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This was truely brilliant a fantastic film that was great and fun to watch.

Spoiler: show
near the start of the film there is a Fast and furious parady that made me chuckle and the parady's at the end at the drive in where they show parady's of other Disney Movies.

DVD: Police Academy 5: Assignment Miami Beach (1988) ~ ~

The Police Academy series is remarkable. Remarkably bad that is. They're so bad that they kind-of make an art form out of it. They don't endeavour to be anything more than really stupid movies. Now if you can get past this, then they're sort of endearing in a way. Lovingly stupid. Kind-of like Forrest Gump. The series is perfect background viewing/ill in bed/I'm to tiered to think material. Harmless enough and 100% better than today's 'stupid movie' genre stuff (Date Movie/Scary Movie sequels/Epic Movie/Meet the Spartans et al.) which are just unwatchable. Which is one of the things that Police Academy achieves, if you do enjoy them, then they're pretty damn re-watchable because they're so plotless and therefore quite forgettable.

Police Academy 5 lifts the Police Academy 'concept' (i.e. pure stupidity) and places it in a new locale. The hugely popular Miami Vice television series had a large impact on mid-eighties pop-culture and clearly dictated the choice of said locale.

One interesting thing to note is that the DVDs aspect ration is 1:33.1. I read that this is because Warner have actually lost the widescreen master. Unfortunately the transfer looks HORRIBLE compared to the rest. It's bad YouTube quality. If the series is ever released on BD, it will be interesting to see how Warner decides to present Assignment Miami Beach.

DVD: Police Academy 6: City Under Siege (1989) ~ ~ ~

By far my favourite of the Police Academy sequels. I think the Scooby Doo plot really suited the series. There's a few funny set pieces in there and it actually has a (somewhat loose) plot!!!

DVD: Police Academy: Mission to Moscow (1994) BOMB

A film so inept it's ridiculous. Firstly, there's no jokes. Not a good thing when it's supposed to be a comedy. Next up, they spend a large amount of time at the beginning of the film setting up the plot which revolves around an addictive video game. A character is playing his Gameboy, addicted to this game. Except there's no cartridge in the Gameboy... If no one gave a shit enough to notice and fix this during shooting... well, it gives you a pretty good indicator as to the quality of the rest of the movie.

The film was easy to watch and very fun. One that had me singing along.

DVD: Trail of the Pink Panther (1982) ~ ~

Pretty terrible. Since Peter Seller's had died they used deleted scenes from the previous movies to bring Inspector Clouseau back, stitching them together and building a weak plot around them.

DVD: Roswell: The Complete Second Season ~ ~ :1/2:

I was never a big fan of Season 2 but watching it again made me realise the only thing I really like about the entire season is Marie's hair when it is styled in a certain way...

DVD: Role Models ~ ~ ~ ~

A very re-watchable comedy. I love the chemistry between the two lead actors, I like Paul Rudd as a comedic actor anyway -- plenty of laugh out loud moments.

Spoiler: show
I especially enjoyed the upbeat ending, the big battle was hilarious!

DVD: Confessions of a Shopaholic ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

I enjoyed it as much on the second watch as I did on the first, it keeps my interest and makes for some light, bubbly entertainment!

DVD: Singin' in the Rain ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

This film is a solid 5 stars. It's a film that is full of energy, dazzling stars (the very charismatic Gene Kelly), entertaining musical numbers and plenty of giggles along the way. You can't walk away from this film without a smile - magic.

DVD: The Ladies Man (2000) ~ ~ :1/2:

Based off a sketch from America's popular television show Saturday Night Live, The Ladies Man suffers from feeling like a fifteen minute comedy sketch dragged out to 90 minutes. Unfortunately it's just not a particularly funny film, sure it has it moments, Will Ferrell in particular steals the show whenever he's onscreen and Tim Meadows is okay as the titular character but it really fails to reach the heights of SNLs best movies. I give it half marks. Not bad but not particularly good either.
